This series of drawing is about Mindful Marks - coming full circle. Before mindfulness was cool I had been using mark making to express my ideas.The repetitive nature of making marks is about awareness. It calmly plays with your brain and allows you to rest, which in turn brings out the message or idea your heart desires to communicate. There is a series of 12 drawings, each having 20,000 marks totaling 240,000 marks, and yes I did count them. The darker or larger dot is the marker for 100. This series did take a few years to complete. In the end I was very pleased with the work. The work was inspired by the tragic tsunami of 2004 and the loss of 240,000 lives. It is a memorial .
